These are the cutest eco-plywood playhouses we have seen!
You can have them indoors or outdoors and the kids crawl in and out of the door and even the windows, too. It looks great left as plain ply, but why not get creative and design your own paintwork? If really brave - let the kids loose to decorate it themselves.
"When my daughter was very young in the 1970s, I wanted to make a playhouse for her and her two brothers" says Auckland-based architect, Robin Hannah.
"Being an Architect, I began planning a series of panels that would interlink with one another to form an enclosed space to suit young children. The result became a treasured playspace for the next five years, then for other families for many years after.
Now that my daughter (and sons) are in their thirties I am beginning the process again, for my grandchildren!
Only this time I have been encouraged to share the idea with you all. so here begins the new story..."
The playhouse is 30kg (66lbs) made of 12mm (1/2 inch) sustainably grown plywood. The panels are about 4-5kg (11lbs) each and are lightweight for easy assembly.
Assembled size 1200mm x 900mm x 1100mm. Small enough to fit in a bedroom or living room but big enough for lots of fun!
Stored size 80mm x 1200mm x 900mm. Small enough to fit under a single bed or in a wardrobe.
